Ana Maria is a seasoned philanthropic executive with 15 years of diverse leadership experience in the charitable and not-for-profit sector and is passionate about facilitating change, building capacity, and delivering results. In that time, she has been inspiring philanthropic support for student scholarships and financial aid, persons living with disabilities, the performing arts, and literacy programs across Canada. She is currently the Director of Advancement at the University of St. Michael’s College in the University of Toronto and is also serving as the Vice- Chair of The Accessibility Standards Advisory Council in Ontario. Previously, she served as the Vice President, National Development at Easter Seals Canada, a national organization serving Canadians living with varying disabilities. She also has 10 years of experience working in government and the corporate sector leading communication and marketing initiatives. She holds an Honours Bachelor’s Degree in Political Science and Economics and additional studies in Anthropology and French linguistics. Through the years, she maintained a connection with the Portuguese Community. Recently received the 38th Annual Business Excellence Award for her commitment and dedication to the community and philanthropic support to multiply charitable organizations. Ana Maria was born in Toronto where she continues to live with her husband and son and is very proud of her Portuguese heritage. Joined the FPCBP in 2019, Board Member since 2020, now serving as President in 2021.
