The Federation of Portuguese Canadian Business & Professionals is pleased to announce its 2023 Essay and Multimedia Contest. This contest is opened to all Ontario students from Grades 7- 12 of Portuguese descent.
There will be multiple AWARDS of $250 Dollars to be won.
Students are required to respond to ONE of the following questions in
written essay form:
1) How has my Portuguese heritage been an influence in my life?
2) How can our community attract youth to participate in Portuguese Canadian cultural and social initiatives?
OR
3) Students will have the option to submit a form of media (short video, picture, collage, sculpture, map etc.), along with their written essay, to respond to the following question:
“To me, being Portuguese means…”
DEADLINE for submission is April 3rd, 2023

CONTEST RULES:
Entries must be based on the questions above and can be written in either English or Portuguese. The essay must be double-spaced and cannot exceed 500 words. Students may submit one essay in each language but can only win one award. Please note that all submissions become property of FPCBP upon their receipt and are scored by an independent selection committee. Winners will be contacted to receive their prizes at an Awards Ceremony celebration which will be presented in-person in June in Toronto, during Portuguese Heritage Month (date to be determined).
