Most recently, Angie led complex cross-divisional files such as the end-to-end management of
the City’s first proposal to the Federal Smart City Challenge, free public Wi-Fi in City-owned
shelters and the development of an arrangement with the Toronto Humane Society and Toronto
Municipal Standards and Licensing Division’s Animal Services Unit to offer complimentary
resources for the well-being of shelter clients and their pets.
Angie joined the Toronto public service in 2015 and successfully developed an innovative
corporate partnership strategy for the Canada Days festival (Canada’s 150th) and curated the
Inaugural Mayor’s Music Sponsorship Roundtable, which brought together grassroots music
organizations and big brands.
A serial volunteer, Angie currently holds fiduciary responsibilities as a member of the executive
team at the Federation of Portuguese-Canadian Businesses and Professionals. At the City, she
was recruited as a corporate services group mentor, Civic Gala Co-Chair and drives
partnerships for TONow. Some of her personal passion projects include leadership roles with
Diner En Blanc Toronto, TEDxToronto, in/future art and music festival, Dancemakers
contemporary dance company and Honest Ed’s closing festival dubbed “Toronto for Everyone”
led by the Centre for Social Innovation.
Angie is known for her enthusiastic spirit, critical thinking, being straightforward and subscribes
to servant leadership. She is business-savvy, curious, optimistic and loyal, which not only
makes her a great motivator, coach, mentor, and vanguard but most importantly a natural-born
business leader who always thinking big then relentlessly makes it happen. She is a strong
woman of courage, great pride, integrity, palpable work ethic and compassion who leads with
